We are excited to announce the date for this years annual “SkyDive For James” is Sunday 5th June at the Black Knights Parachute Centre who are based in Cockerham, Lancaster (LA2 0DY).

If you would like to take part in the tandem skydive all we ask is for you to do is email us at enquiries@forjames.org and include your Details/address we will then send you a events registration form, Simply fill it in and send it back to us.

Then set up a Just Giving page with a minimum amount of £450 for the skydive and link it to the charity Just Giving page. We can even send you a sponsor form if you would like to raise money this way as well.

This will be an all-day event as we have no control over jump times.

All we ask is you keep your Just Giving page up to date (If you raise money via sponsor forms there is a place on your Just Giving page to show this) As it will be the charity paying for your skydive (£250) and not yourself.

The training requirements for Tandem Skydiving is shorter than for a solo jump course, you’ll begin with a 20 minute pre-jump briefing by your highly experienced British Parachute Association Instructor. After this, you will be provided with a skydiver’s jumpsuit to go over your clothes (you should wear comfortable clothing, such as a track suit, and a pair of trainers). After fitting the tandem parachute harness, appropriate headgear and goggles it will take just around 14 minutes in the aircraft to reach altitude. After exiting the aircraft you will freefall until the instructor opens the main parachute at about 5000 feet. You will freefall at a speed of around 120 miles per hour! The descent under the large square parachute will take several minutes, during which time you will help to steer it down to the landing area. You can even have a freefall camera flyer join you on your Tandem Skydive and take a memorable freefall video to help you remember your skydive and to show your friends.
